Wounds and Burns
A skin wound in dogs that does not heal, heals slowly or heals but tends to recur, is known as a chronic wound. Some of the many cases of chronic (ongoing) wounds can include trauma, burns, skin cancers, infections or underlying medical conditions such as diabetes.
